The school is created and devised to teach and train dedicated students who wish to achieve the little extra that ballet has to offer.

At RBS, students young and old study and learn to appreciate this beautiful art form in a fully supervised and artistic environment.

Ballet training is the basis of good all-round dance technique. Ballet gives confidence and poise for life, not just for dancing. It teaches self-discipline, pride in appearance, aids concentration and mental stimulation.

Ballet is an excellent introduction to dance for young children. The natural enthusiasm of very young children for movement and music is nurtured and gradually a more formal structured class evolves.
 
Ballet encourages the development of such skills such as; poise, balance, strength, agility, placement, posture, rhythm and musicality. 

Students are taught the The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Syllabus. It is one of the world's leading dance examination boards. Formed in 1904, today it is a registered educational charity which covers the full spectrum of dance throughout the world.

Pre-School Baby to Ballerina Class from 3 years old - little ones learn to listen and move to music with a few first ballet arm movements and steps.

Boys' Training is aimed at building strength in the upper body used in partner work and strong legs used in the allegro jumps and leaps.    

Examination Every child has a choice to take the ISTD exams or just enjoy the gradual progression through each level.

Awards  Everyone has the oppotunity to gain the 2012 ISTD Award. From Grade 1 upwards. Two, One & a half minute dances our performed in front of an examiner.

Open Day held annually at the end of the summer term, performing class work to show the progress throughout the year. Next Open Day 9th July 2011

Teen Ballet Class  Students will explore the basic techniques of classical ballet from beginners to intermediate ballet student.

Adult Ballet Class Come and experience what you have always dreamt of or pick up where you left off as a child with ballet.

Our Pianist David Rudling comes in to play for the Children's classes every other week.
